Matt is the visionary founder of CoCreate Financial, established on his deep-rooted belief that financial advice extends beyond maximizing investment values — it’s about using resources to shape who we are becoming. His approach integrates financial, social, and spiritual capital, empowering clients to align their financial decision-making and future plans with their beliefs, values, and convictions
With an extensive background in the financial industry, Matt began his career in property management and community economic development before transitioning to financial advising in 2013 at Raymond James. As a Co-owner of his branch, Matt developed systems and implemented best practices which led the branch to become best-in-class. For Clients, he managed portfolios and developed financial plans for individuals, small businesses, and non-profits. Believing he could accomplish more for his clients by owning an independent firm, Matt left Raymond James in 2018, he founded CoCreate Financial, driven by the conviction that clients’ financial resources should serve a purpose beyond their balance sheets.
Throughout his career, Matt has taken on diverse roles, coaching nonprofit and business leaders in designing and implementing systems and processes to achieve best-in-class results. He has developed numerous strategic plans, participated in capital-raising efforts, overseen multiple executive transitions, acquired and sold business interests, and helped launch several nonprofits. Additionally, he has guided the development of impactful community programs and contributed to real estate projects that leverage complex financial structures, including tax credit funding.
Matt holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and Accredited Asset Management Specialist® (AAMS) designations, showcasing his commitment to industry best practices. His board experience includes serving as President and Vice-President of Gallatin County Love in the Name of Christ and as a board member of Family Promise of Gallatin Valley, a grassroots organization that provides shelter and case management for homeless families.
Passionate about helping clients realize their potential, Matt emphasizes the importance of delivering real, personalized advice and believes in an evidence-based model for investing. This approach not only mitigates investment risks but also helps clients define their finish line and surplus, allowing them to enjoy life more fully. He engages a wide network within the financial industry, participating in courses, forums, and conferences, while regularly reviewing academic research to stay updated on industry trends.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys woodworking, guitar building, and connecting with people, embodying his belief that relationships matter. He and Christa, have been married since 2009 and cherish the joys of owning a business together. Through CoCreate Financial, Matt aims to create a legacy where financial resources serve a purpose, empowering clients to lead lives filled with joy and significance.
